Fox Elementary Awarded $5,200 for ‘A Hop, Skip, and a Cub Crawl’ Grant
KLEIN, TEXAS – Fox Elementary has received a Klein ISD Education Foundation (KEF) grant for $5,200 to promote sensory exploration, develop gross motor skills, foster creativity, and enhance mindfulness by installing six sensory learning paths.
These paths will be strategically placed throughout the school based on the elements that best align with each age group. Teachers can use the sensory paths as a supplement or academic movement break.
This grant is a significant step towards addressing the diverse learning needs of the students at Fox. It provides an engaging and experiential learning opportunity that not only complements but also enhances classroom instruction.
Generously sponsored by Canon Solutions America, the $5,200 grant will support students' learning activities that promote physical coordination, sensory awareness, and cognitive development. By engaging in activities like hopscotch, balance beam, and academic sensory activities, students will enhance their motor skills, spatial awareness, and problem-solving abilities.
"It sounds like play, but it is physically challenging for students to improve through physical engagement and movement," KEF President Bill Lakin said. "Success in this area will give the students the confidence to do more and engage more. Success in one area leads to success in other related areas."
This spring, the KEF Celebration Express distributed grants totaling $97,611. These grants will enrich the educational experiences of our students, supporting various innovative and engaging projects.
We sincerely thank all our grant sponsors who have made these initiatives possible. Your support plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational journey of every Klein ISD student.
The Klein ISD Education Foundation accepts grant applications twice a year, encouraging, facilitating, and acknowledging creative projects that drive academic success for our Klein ISD students.
